Meet Our Staff
Every classroom has a state qualified lead teacher, however, all teachers have fulfilled the requirements so that they can be in any room at any time in the facility.
All of our full time teachers have completed the following requirements:

10 observation hours at other facilities

KCCTO online training through Kansas State University

Lydia Ferch - Infant Lead Teacher
Lydia joined our team with her two sons, Myles and Ja'Kobe. She worked at Goddard School as a teacher in the 2-3 year old room and loved every second of it. When she was presented with the opportunity to work at Bizzy Bee'z in the infant room with her son, Myles, she was excited to take the job. Her passions include decorating our rooms and making them enjoyable and kid friendly, playing with her babies, and watching movies with her boyfriend, Lee.
Sharon Hentzen - Toddler Lead Teacher
We at Bizzy Bee'z refer to Sharon as "Aunt Sharon" or "Grandma Sharon." She is the Great Aunt of our owner, Somer. Sharon was excited to come out of retirement to work with babies. She has four grown children as well as ten grandchildren. She and her husband, Tom, are huge supporters of our daycare. She has spent her life raising and caring for kids. Her unique gift and love of art is something she loves to spread to every classroom at our daycare.

Amy Hunter - Preschool Lead Teacher
Amy has two children and is a grandma to her adorable grandson. She is married to a loving and supportive husband, Tim. Amy was a part of AWANA while her children we growing up. She worked in a daycare, worked for the school district in the food service department, and volunteers in her church nursery. Amy loves working with preschoolers and enjoys watching them learn and grow.
Madelyn Pyle - Assistant Director/Teacher
Madelyn is the Bizzy Bee'z Assistant Director and teacher who has a strong passion for God and the children she cares for. She previously worked at Discover Academy, and was offered the opportunity to join Bizzy Bee'z as a teacher in the toddler room and Assistant Director. She is so thankful to be able to pursue what she loves doing every day.

Emery Caire -Assistant to Teachers
Emery attends Olathe South High School. Her hard work and dedication to the daycare is essential as she makes sure our facility is safe, clean, and organized every day. She is a crucial part of the Bizzy Bee'z family and always brings a positive and caring energy with her.

Katie Unruh - Business Manager/Substitute Teacher
Katie joined the Bizzy Beez team as the business manager and substitute teacher. Katie is a former middle school teacher at Harmony Middle School when she was offered to come be a part of the Bizzy Beez family to run the business side of the day care, as well as be a substitute teacher in all the classrooms. Katie's youngest daughter is currently at Bizzy Beez so the two of them enjoy going to "school" together. Both of Katie's girls started at Bizzy Beez back in June 2020 and have been a part of the family ever since.
