Infant TeacherMs. KatieMs. Katie was so excited to join the happy and caring atmosphere that she feels when she comes into Bizzy Beez! She had previously taught in the Olathe School District for 20 years where she taught 2nd grade, 3rd grade, and was a sped teacher. She was also on the building leadership team for 15 years. Her favorite thing about working with the infants is she gets to see every new thing they discover about themselves and what they become capable of doing; and the smiles just melt her heart. Outside of Bizzy Beez, she also enjoys music bingo, trivia, concerts, movies, reading, and traveling.
Toddler Room TeacherMs. JennaMs. Jenna started working at Bizzy Beez during her senior year of high school. She is the daughter of an elementary school teacher so she grew up watching her mom plan fun lessons and crafts for her students. She loves that now she gets to create her own fun things for the kiddos to do. She loves building connections with people so she enjoys having the opportunity to create a connection with the kids, their families, and her co-workers. She's passionate about everything music so she enjoys sharing that passion with the kids as well!
Preschool TeacherMs. AmyMs. Amy started with Bizzy Beez in 2019. Prior to that, she worked in the Olathe School District as a paraprofessional for Heartland Preschool and eventually moved to the Food Service Center. During this time she was volunteering in the two-year old Sunday school class at her church when she realized her love and passion for preschool kids. Her favorite thing of this age group is how their minds are like sponges just soaking up information and they are so eager to learn. Amy says this is the first job she has had where she truly loves coming every day.
Float TeacherMs. RileyMs. Riley is a former Bizzy Bee and started at the age of 7! Once Riley turned 14, she immediately applied to join the team. She loves getting to play with the kids and getting to make up silly dances and games with them. She currently attends Olathe South High School and is involved in STUCO and Falcon Mentors. She also has a passion for reading and loves to share that passion with the kids.
Business Manager/Substitute TeacherMs. KatieMs. Katie joined the Bizzy Beez team as the business manager and substitute teacher. Katie is a former middle school teacher at Harmony Middle School before becoming a part of the Bizzy Beez family to run the business side of the daycare, as well as be a substitute teacher in all the classrooms. Katie's youngest daughter is currently at Bizzy Beez so the two of them enjoy going to "school" together. Both of Katie's girls started at Bizzy Beez back in June 2020 and have been a part of the family ever since.
Assistant TeacherMs. EmmaMs. Emma currently attends Gardner-Edgerton High School where she is a member of the Educators Rising program becauase she wants to be a teacher some day. One of her favorite things about working at Bizzy Beez is seeing the happy kids and creating the bonds and special relationships with each of them. She loves being with family and loves that she gets to work with her mom (Katie) and sister (Jenna) every day. She also loves to be crafty, cook, bake, and shop.

Infant TeacherMs. DakotaMs. Dakota started working for Bizzy Beez in summer 2024. She was so excited to have a job at Bizzy Beez as she has known Pete and Somer since she was little. Dakota grew up babysitting since she was ten years old and always found joy in spending time with kids. She loves to spend time in the classrooms to be able to make a positive impact on the kids just like they make a positive impact on her. Dakota also enjoys being active because she grew up doing cheer, gymnastics, softball, and soccer.
Infant TeacherMs. KennedyMs. Kennedy started working for Bizzy Beez in 2024. She has been around Bizzy Beez since the beginning becasue she is also Pete and Somer‘s niece. She loves to read and listen to music. She loves working at Bizzy Beez because the kids are so curious and ask so many questions. She loves watching them learn about the world and themselves as they grow each year.
Toddler TeacherMs. AshleyMs. Ashley had an amazing opportunity in college to work in child development centers on military bases in Hawaii, Singapore, and Italy. This sparked her love of teaching which led her to be a fourth grade teacher in the Blue Valley School District for four years. She then became the curriculum director at Primrose School of Leawood before coming to Bizzy Beez. She instantly felt like family after touring Bizzy Beez for a place to bring her son to daycare and knew it was the perfect place for growth in her career as well as a place her son can be cared for each day.
Pre-K TeacherMs. MarciMs. Marci joined the Bizzy Beez family after working in the Olathe Public School District for 19 years during which time she taught third and fifth grade. Marci also earned her Master's Degree in Education from the University of Kansas. Marci was first introduced to the Bizzy Beez family when her children started attending in 2020. Her youngest son still attends Bizzy Beez. Marci loves spending time with family, watching movies, KU basketball, and traveling. She is excited to continue her journey as a teacher and to stretch her educational skills with the preschoolers.
Cook/Substitute TeacherMr. DaveMr. Dave started cooking at Bizzy Beez in 2023. Before retiring, he worked at United Telephone Company which is more formally known as Sprint/T-Mobile for 45 years. He knew he wanted something to keep him busy after retirement and Bizzy Beez was the perfect job! He loves getting to see the kids during the day and cook food that they love. He's been told that "Mr. Dave makes the best macaroni and cheese." It‘s been the perfect job after retirement job for him. Besides working, his wife and him love to travel which they never took time to do before as they were busy raising their two daughters. They also stay busy attending all the sporting events for their six grandchildren.
Assistant Teacher
Ms. MadelineMs. Madeline currently attends Olathe East High School. She is in the Future Educators of America program and she's looking forward to pursuing a teaching degree after high school. She is very active in the band and her church youth group. She loves kids and she loves to plan different activities for them that are directed towards their age group. She also works at Blush Bootcamp in the kids camp room a couple days a week.
